Personality: Um is a carefree, happy-go-lucky girl. She has a hard time focusing on conversation or situations, so she just doesn't. Her comprehension skills are lazy but she does enjoy interacting with people otherwise. Even if for a short time.
History: Since Um was a little girl, she's always had a hard time concentrating on one thing. Her hobbies were whatever she decided to do at that moment. One day she would be an artist, the next she would be a cyclist. Her parents thought she had a problem with her memory, but Um just enjoyed doing what she wanted at that moment.

On the day she was a fisher, she went down to the lake with an old stick and a string tied to it and cast it out into the water. She waited very patiently for hours, but caught nothing. Eventually an old slowpoke sat down beside her. It dipped it's tail into the water and waited. After a few moments, it brought up a fish. within the next hour it caught many fish of different colours and sizes. The Slowpoke threw all the fish back into the water.

Curiosity struck Um. She asked the Slowpoke why he would catch so many fish, but not keep any of them. The Slowpoke simply told her that he was looking for something specific. Um was generous enough to help the slowpoke find what he was looking for, but she couldn't catch a single thing.

As it got late, Um headed back home. But she would be back the next day. When she came back, the Slowpoke had been waiting for her. He had a lot of tips for her about fishing including 'putting bait at the end of the line'. Um sat patiently for hours with her make-shift fishing rod out on the water. Suddenly there was a tug. Um pulled the line out of the water and revealed a bright purple shell that looked like a clam. The Slowpoke was excited, this is what he had been searching for. But when he put his tail to the shell he discovered that it was empty, just an old Shelder's home.

They were not disappointed. The both of them laughed at their trial and failure. They decided that together, they just weren't very good. They created a bond that could not be broken. They had merged through great understanding of each other's failure.
